Ralph is an abandoned dog who was abused by his owner. He was left to fend for himself against the harsh elements.
Several good samaritans fed him every day just so he will survive. The good samaritans took pictures of him and tried looking for help.
Fortunately, Barbara Perrin posted the photos on Eldad’s Facebook page and asked him if he could rescue Ralph. Eldad gladly took on the responsibility.
Upon reaching the area where Ralph frequented, he realized that the dog was very skittish and nervous. He wouldn’t let anyone near him, barking at them as a warning.
Eldad tried to use a trap to capture Ralph, but the traps were a little too small to be effective in trapping the nervous dog. He would just take the bait and storm off without so much as an effort.
Eldad tried a different approach and tried befriending Ralph. With the help of Sigal Shilian, who volunteered to help Eldad, they came back the next day to continue the rescue.
They offered Ralph food, and he was more than happy to eat it. He even ate food off of their hands. But then, he would spook and run off again.
After a few hand-feedings, they finally thought of using a bigger cage and lured Ralph in with food. They waited for him to enter, and when he did, they closed the door behind him.
Ralph was finally caught. Back in rehab, the first few minutes were really intense for Ralph. Having been abused and neglected before, he had lost much of his trust in humans.
They worked tirelessly to gain his trust again. Finally, with the help of a cloth, they managed to comfort him, and Ralph began to show receptiveness to their touch.
The next day, Ralph transformed into a loving dog who loved to be held and touched.
