Not everyone understands the saying “dog is a man’s best friend.” Courtney didn’t either, but she soon understood. Courtney has been sick for a long time. She was sick since high school.
She has more than fifteen chronic illnesses, has autoimmune disorders and other conditions. Because of this, she has to spend most of her time at home. To keep herself busy, she has started fostering dogs.
She has been fostering for over six years and within that time, she has fostered over a hundred dogs. She fosters, but she never adopts. Everything changed when she met Indigo. When she was fostering Indigo, she knew she needed to save her.
She sees herself in her. When she fostered Indigo, she thought Indigo was a healthy puppy, but a week after, they needed to bring her in to have her checked, and that’s when the vets found that she had heart murmurs.
She also has heat intolerance. Indigo needed to know when to be active and when to take a break, just like Courtney. They have so many ailments in common that Courtney knew she needed to save her.
Indigo was to be put away because of his condition, and Courtney did everything save her. One of those ways is to adopt her which she did. She has finally foster failed.
With Indigo, Courtney has started getting a full night’s sleep which has not happened for years. Their personalities and attitudes are so similar that they just connected instantly. Courtney could not imagine life without Indigo.
She discovered how much love an animal can give. And she has finally understood what dog lovers have been talking about. She has found her best friend in Indigo, and she could not be happier to be with her.
Indigo has changed her life, and through her adoption, she has altered Indigo’s as well. These two are two peas in a pod.
