It feels good when we get reunited with a friend or a family member that we haven’t seen in a while. The same is true with these two doggy siblings who accidentally ran into each other after being apart for ten months!
According to owner Susan Killip, Rosie and Monty were from a litter of six. Ever since they were puppies, the two have always been together.
Monty was then adopted by Dave, one of Susan’s friends, who lived just a few blocks away from them. Dave also fostered Rosie for a week, but right after Susan brought her home, the pups never saw each other again.
That was until a few months ago! Dave was walking Monty, and Susan was out with Rosie when the two pups bumped into each other on the street.
Dave’s other friend, who was walking with them, took photos of the pups’ adorable mini-reunion and sent them to his daughter Libby. The young lady then posted the pictures on Twitter, which has since gone viral.
The message on the post narrated how the mini-reunion went. Libby’s dad was strolling with Dave and his dog when they saw a couple approaching them. They were also walking their dog that looked exactly like Dave’s — only that it was white.
It turned out that the two dogs were brother and sister. Dave’s friend thought they would play like normal dogs do, but then they hugged each other!
While some say that dogs don’t remember their littermates, Susan and her friends believe that the pups’ sweet gesture was not an accident and that they truly recognized each other.
We can’t tell if Rosie and Monty do know that they’re siblings, but it’s obvious that they’ve developed a deep connection with one another. The pups’ parents will see to it that the dogs would see each other after the COVID-19 restrictions have eased in their area. Learn more about these siblings in the video below!
