When a pup is left wandering around the streets filled with busy cars, a life-threatening situation might be around the corner. This is why Officer Kareem Garibaldi of Lakeland, Florida’s police department took quick action to save a little pitbull mix who was trapped on a busy road.
Luckily, this kind-hearted officer was doing his routine patrols in the neighborhood when he saw the poor pup. Upon assessing the situation, Officer Kareem decisively jolted out of the police car to get her out of harm’s way because she could be minutes away from getting hit by a car. Judging from her size, the pup was estimated to be around 2 months old – making the situation even more dangerous for the young pooch.
To make matters worse, no one knows if the pup even had a family because she didn’t have a tag on her. The lone pup was completely helpless and probably wouldn’t have survived without Officer Kareem.
The officer knew his mission was far from over. He wanted the pup to get back home or to get a new one if she didn’t have one already. So he picked up the pooch and drove off to the station so she could stay there as he finishes his shift.
The officer was so dedicated to finding the pup’s home that he even put up social media posts about the pup. Aside from this, the officer also made an effort to take the pup to the vet to see if she had any injuries. Thankfully, she was fine and only had some mites.
While the pup was being treated, this was Officer Kareem’s chance to get a little shut-eye. Little did the pup know, the officer had been working the past few days strenuously. He was finishing his 12-hour shift that day as he had been doing for the past 2 days. The exhaustion from work didn’t bother the officer because the pup’s welfare was his priority.
After being treated, the pup was well on her way to become a perfectly healthy dog. So they drove back to the station, where a surprise had been waiting for them. Discover what surprise was waiting for the two with this video.
