Life at the shelter is hard. While other dogs are happily living their lives with their forever families, rescue pups desperately wait inside their kennels for someone to give them a chance and take them home. Thankfully, shelter staff members do everything they can to take the canines out of those confined spaces as quickly as possible. And, that is precisely what Kitsap Human Society in Silverdale, Washington, is doing.
A few years ago, Molly Clark, who volunteers at the shelter, started taking rescue dogs for a ride to a local Starbucks. She grabs a coffee for herself, and of course, she gives a “puppuccino” to her four-legged co-pilot too. Soon, she decided to make this an official program and call it “Puppuccino Pals.”

Once a week, a staff and an adoptable dog would drop by the Bucklin Hills Starbucks to get a “puppuccino” and take some snaps. Then, the shelter shares the adorable picture to its Instagram page for potential families to see.
Through this program, rescue dogs experience pure joy as they indulge their delicious treat. They get a better chance at finding their forever homes too. Not to mention, while they are out on a car ride, these pooches can also enjoy a different environment even just for a while.

Molly said that the rescue dogs love it. However, she is careful to choose those that will not be stressed by the experience. According to Molly, the shelter goes to great lengths to make sure that the animals in their care receive individualized care and attention. For those who cannot leave the facility, Molly brings them the puppuccino instead.
The shelter started the Puppuccino Pals program back in April and has since featured dozens of rescue dogs on Instagram. In the caption, the staff always includes details about the adoptable dog to make it easier for potential fur parents to get to know their prospective four-legged companion.
