The Dog Rescue Shelter Mladenovac team was just about to start driving for an errand, and only got several meters away from the shelter when they saw two small puppies hurrying away from the road and into hiding. It was enough to make them pull over, and to get out of their vehicle — there was nothing but open space, but they knew that the puppies couldn’t have gone that far yet. They were yet to develop the speed and strength necessary to make a proper run for it and maintain a safe distance between themselves and their rescuers.
Or at least, that’s what these rescuers though — they didn’t account for where the puppies would end up hiding in, and how difficult it would be to get the both of them to come out. When they checked a pipe laying by the side of the road, sure enough, the puppies were there and well beyond the reach of anyone’s arm. Fortunately, however, both ends of the pipe were accessible to the rescuers, and two of the group decided to block both — one of them shooed the puppies away to the other end, where another rescuer was waiting.
It sounded simple enough on paper, but executing it proved to be quite a challenge to both rescuers, as both puppies were determined not to get captured — they even went so far as to growl at them. The puppies couldn’t just stand in the same spot while they were bullied into running toward the other end of the pipe though, and when one of them came close enough to reach, the other rescuer grabbed him. Not too long after that, the second puppy was secured and was driven back to the shelter, where they received vet care, and a warm place to sleep in.
More than a month later, they had turned into bigger, happier, healthier young dogs.
